Bill was involved in the early years of the National Radio Broadcasting Association and is a past director of that group which merged with NAB.
He served as President of Alabama Broadcasters Association in 1984 and has taken an active role in many of the ABA Washington Congressional Receptions and statewide radio broadcasts.
After establishing a strong position within the Athens-Huntsville market, Bill purchased WTXT in the Fayette-Tuscaloosa market.
He also made considerable news in Huntsville when he formed Tennessee Valley Radio, a wholly owned subsidiary of Athens Broadcasting, and made arrangements for it to lease 20 hours of airtime each day on WKQD.
He is currently the President of BK Productions in Athens, Alabama.
As a former Boy Scout Troop Leader for 10 years, Bill took his troop to the World Jamboree several times. He is also involved with Faith Ministries and a member of the United Methodist Church. Bill and his wife Mary have one child, Artise Stewart.
