Best advice for scheduling ABA PEP spots:
  1. Write up a TFN order identifying the spot in your traffic system (i.e., ABA-Army Guard Reflection; ABA-State Bar Foreclosure; ABA-EMA Hurricane).
  2. Assign it a medium to low priority code.
  3. Radio should schedule the spots from 6am to 7pm (if the spot gets bumped it would default to the next BTA or the next day BTA).
  4. TV should schedule the spots from 6am to 10pm (if the spot gets bumped it would default to the next BTA or the next day BTA).

PUBLIC FILE COVER SHEETS

Did you know that the same PEP spots which support the programs of the Alabama Broadcasters Association are also considered Issues and Programs material for your Public File?

All you need to do is attach a copy of your affidavits to the appropriate report and file it.

We are providing a SAMPLE for use with any public service campaigns you might run in addition to PEP spots. You will also find a blank copy of the form for your purposes.

In addition, we are including examples of radio and TV affidavits which include all the information you would need to report. If you are not producing affidavits in this manner, you might consider doing so for your Public File. In our examples, the ABA has been established as an "advertiser" with the individual PEP partners having their own affidavit each month.

The PEP program allows us to keep membership dues low and offer more benefits to member stations.

Thank you for supporting the ABA by running PEP spots. Please make sure you get the credit for doing so by sending the affidavits to the ABA office in a timely manner. Just as you report to the FCC, we report to our PEP partners.
