transpixel From Owner/Operator Paul Slatton:
At about 10am on Tuesday, May 15, a hearse which had been parked at a church up the hill from WBTG rolled down the hill. It passed within about six feet of a guy wire and about six feet from the tower fence. It took out a satellite dish and crashed into the rear of our building hitting the production room dead center. transpixel

transpixel Dan Michaels was helping Jerry Knight cut a commercial. The mic was open and the recording computer was running but we were unable to play it back because the computer locked up. I think the guys were glad we couldn’t play it back!
The front bumper of the (empty) hearse was about three feet from Jerry’s back when it stopped. The most serious injury was to one of the guy’s ego when he yelled, “I want my Mama.” transpixel

transpixel An RR recorder was hit but no other equipment was damaged. The console was moved about six inches. The noise awoke me from my morning nap.
We are thankful that nobody was hurt. The Funeral home and insurance company representatives came by later with check books in hand. I assured them I am not greedy...much...but my back is hurting a little from jumping up out of the recliner. transpixel
