\"\"Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett began his career in law enforcement with the Alabama Department of Public Safety (DPS), currently the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) in 2006, as an Alabama State Trooper and has completed 15 years of service. He is currently assigned to ALEA\u2019s Office of the Secretary and assists in coordinating and managing the Agency\u2019s statewide recruiting and public affairs efforts. During his law enforcement career, he\u2019s served in a variety of capacities and positions: an operator on the State Tactical Team, member of the Special Operations Unit, a Field Training Officer, Run, Hide, Fight Instructor as well as an instructor at the ALEA Training Center. He also holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University.<\/p>\n

Sergeant Burkett also joined the Alabama National Guard in 2002 and in July of this year will mark 20 years of service. Currently, he is a Captain (Promotable) at the 167th Theater
\nSustainment Command in Anniston and serves as the Deputy Inspector General. He enlisted as a Private and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant before attending the Alabama Military Academy, where he received his commission as an Officer in the United States Military. He has held a multitude of positions and served on two combat deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. He was also the last Company Commander of the 900th Maintenance Company in Brundidge. He is married to his wife Kimberly, they have four children Judson, Taylor, Madison and Marleigh and they attend First Methodist Church in Troy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
