\u2022Manage day-to-day operations of news department effectively to enterprise strong unique local content
\n\u2022Manage reporting staff on daily news gathering
\n\u2022Guide staff in journalism best practices and content showcasing
\n\u2022Oversee daily breaking news and severe weather coverage
\n\u2022Oversee short and long-term planning for content
\n\u2022Work with management team using metrics and research to increase audience for both TV newscasts and digital platforms
\n\u2022Communicate individual and team goals clearly
\n\u2022Manage and review performance, motivate, coach and keep staff focused to ensure excellence
\n\u2022Hold staff accountable for content that is balanced, accurate and relevant
\n\u2022Manage anchor and reporter schedules
\n\u2022Work with News Director on department long-term goals, budgeting, recruiting and hiring<\/p>\n
Requirements:

\u2022Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws
\n\u2022Must possess a strong understanding of newsroom technologies including ENPS, Avid, iNews, Xpression, and NewsTicker
\n\u2022Strong production values and content showcasing skills required
\n\u2022Journalism degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in news management with noted leadership skills is required<\/p>\n
