If you love local sports, this is the job for you. We cover everything from youth sports to the SEC, spanning three states. We\u2019ve got the resources, the staff and the tradition. Now, we\u2019re looking for someone to join our team and take our product to an even higher level.<\/p>\n<p>WTVY-TV is the top-rated station in the market. We have the resources to back it up, with a live truck, satellite truck and three backpack live units. WTVY features the largest news staff in the market, with nearly 30 people, including three in sports.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re not looking for someone to rack up national highlights. This is a job for someone with talent, creativity, strong organizational skills and a desire to lead. We\u2019re looking for the stories you won\u2019t see on the AP wire.<\/p>\n<p>Principal Duties &#038; Responsibilities Include:<br \/>\nLead a 3-person department<br \/>\nAnchor three shows per day over two separate networks; WTVY (CBS) and WRGX (NBC)<br \/>\nCoordinate with news department to cover most important stories of the day, sometimes with team coverage<br \/>\nProducing and co-hosting our award-winning 35-minute H.S. Football program, Friday Night Football<br \/>\nProducing and hosting our 20-minute college football program, GameNight, on Saturday nights<br \/>\nStrong reporting skills<br \/>\nCamera presence &#038; strong vocal skills are imperative<br \/>\nStrong writing, shooting, editing and live skills is essential for this position<br \/>\nMake connections within the community to generate exclusive sports content &#038; consistent local product on all platforms<br \/>\nExcellent social media skills \u2013 Facebook and Twitter are a huge part of our daily routine<br \/>\nAbility to produce on air and online \u2013 our web component is a vital connection with our viewers<br \/>\nPromotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station personnel<br \/>\nKnowledge of Panasonic P2 cameras, Edius, Sonic Foundry Vegas and INews is also a plus<br \/>\nSome Travel Required<br \/>\nSome lifting of heavy camera equipment required<br \/>\nSome weekend and holiday work required<\/p>\n<p>Bottom line; we\u2019re looking for someone to lead an award-winning department, develop and execute a plan for extraordinary sports coverage and help us continue the tradition of excellence we\u2019ve built in this community over 60 years.
