The Alabama News Network made up of CBS8, ABC Montgomery, CW Montgomery, MeTV, and Heartland produces 30 hours per week of Live Local News. We’re searching for a News Director that can build off of a solid foundation of experienced News Journalists and improved ratings to lead us to the next level in our new 6 million dollar state of the art News facility.<\/p>\n

This is a Department Head position and will report directly to the VP\/General Manager.<\/p>\n

Responsibilites:
\nSupervise News Department and be responsible for overall content of the News across all platforms: on-air, web, social media, and mobile<\/p>\n

Work with other Departments to ensure a quality News product and consistent branding message<\/p>\n

Create a culture of creativity, innovation, teamwork, and high ethical standards<\/p>\n

Hire, develop, and coach up and coming young talent<\/p>\n

Must be a strategic planner and communicator with attention to community<\/p>\n

Qualifications:
\nBachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications preferred with News Management experience<\/p>\n

Diverse knowledge of journalism, management, marketing, television production, and digital media<\/p>\n
