POSITION SUMMARY:<\/p>\n
Demonstrated ability to perform live, on-scene reporting making use of taped inserts and live interviews. Complete daily videotaped stories to deadline. Establish news contacts\/sources in coverage area. Generate story ideas. Coordinate ideas for series\/special reports. Interview news sources to obtain material for reports. Coordinate field shooting with photographers, making suggestions in a collaborative manner to ensure thorough visual coverage of stories. Prepare shot schedules, including interviews and locations. Research stories to ensure complete, accurate, and fair coverage.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
1. Minimum of 2 years TV news reporting experience preferred. Anchoring experience is an asset.<\/p>\n
2. Strong packaging, writing and communication skills.<\/p>\n
3. Knowledge of coverage area.<\/p>\n
4. College degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or equivalent work experience.<\/p>\n
5. Able to attend work regularly.<\/p>\n
6. Available to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.<\/p>\n
7. Possession of a valid Driver’s License and able to operate company vehicles in a safe manner.<\/p>\n
8. Capable of handling the physical and mental requirements including:
\n\u2022Ability to understand and orally communicate in English;
\n\u2022Ability to read computer monitor information (words and data);
\n\u2022Ability to hear detailed spoken communication;
\n\u2022Ability to remain sedentary;
\n\u2022Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks with hands, fingers;
\n\u2022Ability to analyze data, concentrate, reason, and write; and
\n\u2022Ability to perform under emotional stress.<\/p>\n
