The Alabama News Network made up of CBS8, ABC Montgomery, CW Montgomery, MeTV and Heartland produces 30 hours of Local News a week. We’re searching for a News Director that can build off of a solid foundation of experienced News Journalists and improved ratings to lead us to the next level in our 6 million dollar state of the art News facility.<\/p>\n
This is a Department Head position and will report directly to the VP\/General Manager.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\n– Supervise News Department and be responsible for overall content of the News across all platforms: on air, web, social media and mobile.
\n-Work with other Departments to ensure a quality News product and branding message.
\n-Create a culture of creativity, innovation, teamwork and high ethical standards.
\n-Hire, develop and coach up and coming young talent.
\n-Must be a strategic planner and communicator with attention to community.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\nBachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications preferred with News Management experience.<\/p>\n
Diverse knowledge of journalism, management, marketing, television production and digital media.<\/p>\n
