The Assistant Production Director role is a demanding creative position, requiring leadership and networking skills. The APD works with the Production Director and assists with, among other things, the execution of commercials. This role may require writing, dubbing, voicing, archiving commercials and on-air announcing and board operator duties.<\/p>\n
Required Experience:<\/p>\n
Assist in management of commercial production staff and work load
\nWork with AEs and clients to create customized spec spots.
\nConsult with clients about creative
\nWrite, produce, and voice commercials
\nRead or ad-lib to identify station, introduce and close shows, and announce station breaks
\nWork closely with traffic and continuity to assure all commercials air correctly
\nMonitor commercial content to meet legal, ethical, and decency standards.
\nWork with PD\u2019s on any commercial content challenges to meet legal, ethical and decency standards.
\nCreate any other kinds of production AEs need for presentations or wrap ups.
\nAssist in checking missing report nightly to correct any discrepancies in the following day\u2019s log.
\nAdhere to all company policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity.
\nDepending on skill level, work an approved and previously agreed upon air shift.
\nMaintain a website personality page. Must be kept up-to-date with relevant material that is appropriate for the given station.
\nParticipate in required station Programming, Promotions, and Sales staff meetings and events.
\nMake regular approved appearances at paid, and non-paid, station events (community events, station concerts, etc\u2026).
\nWork hours likely to be staggered; meaning your day could start on 9:30 or 10 a.m. until 6:30-7 p.m. Possible to be Noon-8 p.m. on Friday\u2019s
\nBe on call for possible disasters, breaking news, or acts of nature.<\/p>\n
Required Skills:<\/p>\n
Knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
\nAbility to work under tight deadlines
\nAbility to work well under pressures
\nAbility to work independently and collaborate with others.
\nExcellent communication skills
\nShould have the ability to take initiative and be proactive as well as have the flexibility and assertiveness to get things done
\nValid driver\u2019s license
\nMinimum two years related experience and\/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.<\/p>\n
