WKRG-TV News 5, the Nexstar CBS television affiliate in Mobile\/Pensacola, seeks a Digital Content Producer to join our news team.
\nThe DCP authors accurate, engaging stories and posts that include text, photos, video, and graphics.
\nThe DCP produces live streaming and prerecorded video segments and programs for websites, social media, apps, and serialized distribution.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Author strong copy and write powerful headlines
\n\u2022 Research and gather information to produce accurate, complete, fair stories
\n\u2022 Produce stories in various formats for web, social media, apps, & other distribution channels
\n\u2022 Produce live streaming video programs
\n\u2022 Ensure all content produced meets company and community standards
\n\u2022 Monitor social media accounts and respond to viewer questions and comments
\n\u2022 Meet or exceed KPIs
\n\u2022 Other projects and duties as assigned<\/p>\n
Required & Preferred Capabilities:
\n\u2022 Strong awareness of news and current events
\n\u2022 Strong news judgment
\n\u2022 High journalistic integrity
\n\u2022 Meet deadlines
\n\u2022 Very strong communication skills
\n\u2022 Professional savvy and collegial demeanor when interacting with colleagues and the public
\n\u2022 Work well under pressure — handle breaking news and last-minute changes with aplomb
\n\u2022 Strong, candid knowledge of self & capabilities and acts with urgency to learn and grow
\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Journalism, Media, Creative Writing, English, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
\n\u2022 Flexibility to work a variety of assigned shifts<\/p>\n
Technical Skills:
\n\u2022 Mastery of AP writing style to author stories on all platforms
\n\u2022 WordPress experience a big plus
\n\u2022 Adobe Premiere Pro capability preferred
\n\u2022 Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) experience a plus
\n\u2022 Experience with reading and interpreting digital and social media metrics a plus
\n\u2022 Fluency in English required
\n\u2022 Valid driver\u2019s license and clean driving record required for hire and must be maintained<\/p>\n
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
\nThe Digital Content Producer must be able to stand, sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and occasionally work outdoors with various weather conditions and indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
\nMust be able to lift, set up and operate equipment or items weighing up to 25 pounds.<\/p>\n
