The current position opening is in Montgomery County. APT operates 9 fiber-connected transmitter sites and 18 microwave sites with over 2200 miles of digital bidirectional microwave paths.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of RF and electrical systems and will assist both the Deputy Director and Broadcast Director in managing the technical and operational functions of our broadcast infrastructure, ensuring consistent signal delivery across APT\u2019s statewide network and adherence to all broadcast standards.<\/p>\n<p>DUTIES:<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain 24\/7 availability 7 days\/week to ensure a timely response to emergency off-air situations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Oversee the daily operation of assigned transmitter\/microwave sites.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work in conjunction with our Network Operations Center (NOC) to keep accurate transmitter\/equipment logs and records.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist with interviewing and mentoring newly hired engineers<br \/>\n\u2022 Perform routine maintenance on all assigned microwave\/transmitter equipment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Work with other agencies and viewers to ensure a good working relationship is maintained.<\/p>\n<p>WHAT WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR:<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of RF communications\/associated equipment<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong knowledge in troubleshooting complex RF and electrical infrastructure<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong leadership skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent organizational and time management skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate<br \/>\n\u2022 Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software<\/p>\n<p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\n\u2022 Graduation from an accredited junior college or a technical school with a two-year degree in Electronics, RF (Radio Frequency), Broadcasting, Telecommunications, or a related field.<br \/>\n\u2022 Three (3) years of work experience in the maintenance, operation, and repair of broadcast equipment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Valid Alabama Driver License<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: Qualifying experience above the minimum may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.<\/p>\n<p>SALARY RANGE: $52,761.60 &#8211; $88,524.00 (commensurate with experience)<\/p>\n<p>Benefits<br \/>\n\u2022 Health | Dental | Vision | Cancer | FSA insurance options for employees and eligible dependents<br \/>\n\u2022 Pension plan<br \/>\n\u2022 Paid annual and sick leave<br \/>\n\u2022 Paid parental leave<br \/>\n\u2022 Thirteen paid holidays<br \/>\n\u2022 PSLF Qualifying Employer<\/p>\n<p>How To Apply<br \/>\nThis is a State of Alabama Merit System position.
