Cumulus Media – Ft Walton Beach is accepting applications for Chief Engineer of 5 radio stations.<\/p>\n
Scope<\/p>\n
Directs and coordinates installation, maintenance and repair of studio, transmitting and ancillary equipment in order to maintain competitive signals in the market while complying with all FCC technical requirements. Includes responsibility for telecommunications, computer and networking systems.<\/p>\n
General Responsibilities
\n\u2022Maintains station operation through preventative and corrective maintenance
\n\u2022Establishes and follows routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all broadcast equipment
\n\u2022Installs and performs maintenance on control consoles, audio routers, recording equipment, microphones, digital audio systems, transmitters, antennas, control systems, remote equipment, etc.
\n\u2022Works with programming\/promotion departments to coordinate and maintain remote broadcasts as needed<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
\n\u2022Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations
\n\u2022Advanced experience with cluster-wide audio routing, digital audio delivery, EAS, Studio Telephone and engineering IT systems
\n\u2022Computer literacy in applicable software packages (Microsoft OS and Office Suite, OpX Automation Systems, etc.)
\n\u2022Ability to troubleshoot broadcast equipment to the component level
\n\u2022Ability to work independently to troubleshoot\/repair high-power AM and FM transmitting facilities
\n\u2022Extensive IT skills including local area and wide area networking
\n\u2022Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n\u2022Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing
\n\u2022Knowledge of electrical systems, UPS, and standby generators and record keeping
\n\u2022Knowledge of telephone systems and protocols including POTS, ISDN, T1, DSL and PRI circuits
\n\u2022Interact with management and staff at all levels and ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines
\n\u2022Minimum 5 years as Station Assistant or Chief Engineer<\/p>\n
Education and Licensing Requirements
\n\u2022Associates or technical degree in Broadcasting Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent level of experience
\n\u2022SBE Certification a plus
\n\u2022Must possess valid state drivers license and provide required proof of personal vehicle insurance<\/p>\n
Physical Requirements
\n\u2022May require lifting or moving up to 75 lbs
\n\u2022May require climbing ladders and working on elevated surfaces (e.g. rooftops)
\n\u2022Requires good manual dexterity for soldering, use of hand tools and working on small components
\n\u2022Ability to be on 24 x 7 x 365 callout for after hours emergencies or routine maintenance as the need arises<\/p>\n
