Position: IT Manager<\/p>\n
Reports To: Engineering Leader<\/p>\n
Job Description: This position is responsible for managing the IT operation at a top 50 broadcast television station that is part of a corporate WAN. This position will be located at WVTM in Birmingham, AL.<\/p>\n
Job Responsibilities:
\n\u2022Manage all station IT operations including supervision and direction of IT support technicians
\n\u2022Maintain LAN\/IT infrastructure, installation and support of network hardware & software
\n\u2022Consult with end users and install desktop, laptop and workstation computers based on an analysis of the end user\u2019s needs
\n\u2022Provide technical guidance and support to end users
\n\u2022Consult with end users to determine and troubleshoot hardware, software and system problems,
\n\u2022Advise on and perform upgrades, after consultation, tailored to the end user\u2019s specific needs
\n\u2022Analyze, advise and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedures
\n\u2022Control and manage hardware and software inventory
\n\u2022Design and integrate complex systems
\n\u2022Occasional travel to two news bureau locations<\/p>\n
Experience Requirements:
\n\u2022Experience with all current Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
\n\u2022Experience with network and stand-alone printers and digital copiers
\n\u2022Experience with mobile device support & connectivity
\n\u2022Experience with Enterprise and web-based applications
\n\u2022Experience with VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP\/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management, MPLS and dedicated circuits<\/p>\n
Qualifications Requirements:
\n\u2022Seasoned IT professional with proven ethical work experience and the desire to succeed
\n\u2022Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with constant deadlines
\n\u2022Minimum 5 years in LAN & WAN systems administration and management
\n\u2022Demonstrate professional interpersonal and communication skills
\n\u2022Possess the positive attitude of a collaborative team player
\n\u2022Experience in the television broadcast setting is preferred
\n\u2022Experience in management is preferred<\/p>\n
Education:
\n\u2022BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Science or Information Technology or an equivalent combination of training and real world work experience
\n\u2022Microsoft, Cisco, HP, or other certifications preferred<\/p>\n
