Position: On Air Operator<\/p>\n
Reports To: Engineering Manager<\/p>\n
Job Description:
\nHearst Television is looking for on air operators who are self-motivated, detail oriented, and a team player with strong interpersonal skills. On air operators are responsible for master control functions including monitoring multiple air channels, acquiring, ingesting and preparing content, executing playlists, maintaining regulatory compliance, assuring quality control of on air product, and documenting transmission events. This position will be located at WVTM in Birmingham, AL.<\/p>\n
Job Responsibilities:
\n\u2022Monitors multiple channels to ensure regulatory compliance and quality signals.
\n\u2022Maintains program and transmitter logs.
\n\u2022Executes, edits, updates, and appends playlists.
\n\u2022Acquires content from various distributors.
\n\u2022Prepares content for air.
\n\u2022Reports equipment issues and transmission discrepancies.<\/p>\n
Qualification Requirements:
\n\u2022Operational knowledge and experience with master control activities and functions.
\n\u2022Experience with master control automation preferred.
\n\u2022Prior exposure to television station operations and newscast production a plus.
\n\u2022Ability to learn specialized software applications.
\n\u2022Aptitude for operating electronic equipment for broadcast and production requirements.
\n\u2022Excellent attention to details skills.
\n\u2022Strong computer skills.
\n\u2022Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
\n\u2022Can work flexible hours and shifts including holidays and weekends.<\/p>\n
Education:
\n\u2022College Degree in Broadcast Communications or related field preferred.<\/p>\n
