\nWIAT-TV, CBS 42 is looking for an experienced reporter\/photographer (MMJ). The ideal candidate shoots, writes, tracks and edits well told stories with compelling pictures and nat sound. Live shot experience on both sides of the camera preferred. This job will also include internet responsibilities.<\/p>\n
JOB SUMMARY:<\/p>\n
Research, writing, capturing visual content and editing general assignment
\nstories for multiple platforms. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
* Produce content for multiple platforms, including TV, internet, mobile,
\netc.<\/p>\n
* Work with management to enterprise and develop stories on a daily
\nbasis.<\/p>\n
* Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots and
\nstand-ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media
\nplatforms.<\/p>\n
* Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write story according
\nto prescribed editorial style and format standards.<\/p>\n
* Gather and verify factual information regarding stories through
\ninterview, observation and research.<\/p>\n
Specialized Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities:<\/p>\n
* Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment.<\/p>\n
* Conflict management.<\/p>\n
* Detail oriented.<\/p>\n
* Demonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and
\nlibel laws.<\/p>\n
* Strong on-air reporting, writing, and technical skills.<\/p>\n
Education\/Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelors degree Journalism required (equivalent years of experience may
\nsubstitute for education) + (3) three years experience as a multi platinum
\njournalist.<\/p>\n
Training\/Equipment: Camera and camera equipment.<\/p>\n
Work Environment\/Mental\/Physical Requirements: Position requires the
\noperation of camera, camera equipment, computer and editing machine, and
\ntransport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. High stress environment with
\ndeadline pressures. Travel will be required on a regular basis. Work may be
\nperformed in extreme outdoor temperatures. A valid driver’s license and an
\nacceptable driving record are required.<\/p>\n
