Job Description: General Manager, VP oversees News, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, IT, Programming, Community Affairs and Administration of WKRN. Create and execute a strategic plan for growing ratings, revenue and profits. In addition, the General Manager, VP is responsible for protecting the station\u2019s FCC license and promoting a positive image of the station to the community. Oversee all sales and sales related marketing efforts to maximize the potential of the station. Responsible for the execution of a brand and marketing plan with a focus on news growth and community program development. Insure that WKRN is in compliance with FCC and EEO rules.<\/p>\n
Skills: (Essential and Preferred) Candidate must provide aggressive leadership in achieving overall revenue goals including the execution of multiple sales projects and initiatives. This position requires competency in and knowledge of branding, marketing strategy, television production, external media, community affairs, promotion, research and administrative management. Must have exceptional communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills. Progressive experience in television station management with hands-on experience in News, Sales and Operations. Knowledge of FCC regulations. Ability to formulate and execute business plans based Nielsen ratings and news research.<\/p>\n
Experience: (Essential and Preferred) Four year college degree with 10 years previous experience in television management, sales, or operations preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver\u2019s license with an acceptable driving record.
