JOB SUMMARY: Provide planning, organization, and direction to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of the television station.
\nPrincipal Duties & Responsibilities:
\n* Lead and manage the station’s broadcast engineering department.
\n* Manage the day-to-day technical operations of the station.
\n* Oversee the operation and maintenance of all broadcast station equipment.
\n* Evaluate, prioritize, and correct equipment deficiencies in a timely manner.
\n* Oversee technical training of all operations and maintenance personnel.
\nSpecialized Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities:
\n* Strong IT skills.
\n* Technical knowledge of broadcast system software and applications.
\n* Knowledge of all FCC regulations.
\n* Detail oriented and highly accurate in record keeping and work habits.
\n* Leadership skills.
\nEducation\/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or computer sciences. Prior experience as a Chief Broadcast Engineer, Broadcast Engineer, or similar Engineering position in the commercial television broadcast industry a plus.
\nTraining\/Equipment: Commercial digital\/analog television broadcast equipment and technologies, high power transmission technologies, satellite transmission technologies.
\nWork Environment\/Mental\/Physical Requirements: Position requires working in confined spaces; frequent climbing of ladders, and frequently lifting\/carrying up to 50 pounds. Must have flexibility to work overnights and weekends. Highly automated, highly computer intensive environment.
