A Multimedia Journalist must be able to perform the following functions:
\n-confidently and skillfully shoot & edit digital video
\n-accurately report on a variety of subjects
\n-write\/produce clear, easy to understand stories including producing packages
\n-deliver compelling on-air live shots & stand-ups
\n-willingness and ability to set up own Skype shots\/Ustream shots and possibly own microwave live shots
\n-passion to post and support the station\u2019s web and social media sites.<\/p>\n
We don\u2019t have time to hold your hand. If you\u2019re not already doing these things successfully, please do not waste your time.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not clear yet what shift or in which newsroom the person hired for this position will work. It\u2019ll be dependent on where your skills are best suited and the potential for other internal reassignments.<\/p>\n
Core Job Functions:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Shooting, editing, reporting writing and producing stories for on-air and online.
\n\u2022Must have a solid grasp of how to tell stories with words, video, sound and graphics.
\n\u2022A superior ability to develop enterprise story ideas, develop sources & contacts, and research stories.
\n\u2022Aggressive response to spot news, breaking news and severe weather.
\n\u2022Set-up live shots from spot & breaking news and deliver live reports on-air.
\n\u2022Web Posting: Post video and text content to station\u2019s website.
\n\u2022Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
