\nWIAT-TV CBS 42 is looking for a Producer for live newscasts who is experienced, creative and a self-starter. Ideal candidate would have the ability to produce compelling, well-written, fast paced, visually interesting newscasts while working under pressure and tight deadlines.
\nJOB SUMMARY: The producer delivers and contributes accurate, visual, news
\ncontent across all media platforms.<\/p>\n
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
\n* Responsible for evaluating
\nstories; organizing them into a cohesive sequence within a newscast or digital
\ncontent for the web.
\n* Oversees writing, production, and timing of broadcast
\nor on-line publication.
\n* Define strategic direction for content coverage to
\nmeet business objectives.
\n* Manage news room, contribute to the editorial
\nprocess and make solid decisions in breaking news situations.
\n* Monitor
\npostproduction processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
\n* Execute
\nstrategies that engage and grow audiences across all digital devices.
\n*
\nWrite, produce and edit material that appeals to target audiences.
\n*
\nResearch production topics using the internet, video archives, and other
\ninformation sources.<\/p>\n
Specialized Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities:
\n* Must be able to interact well
\nwith video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and
\nengineering staff.
\n* Detail oriented; proficient in non-linear editing.
\n*
\nExcellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills.
\n* Strong news
\njudgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and
\nexpectations.
\n* Knowledge of media production, communication and
\ndissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and
\nentertain via written, oral, and visual media.
\n* Ability to meet quality
\nstandards for service & evaluate customer satisfaction.
\n* Proficient in
\nnon-linear editing.<\/p>\n
Education\/Experience: Bachelors Degree in Communications, TV\/film or
\nequivalent experience may substitute + 5 years experience in television or radio
\nbroadcast\/production.<\/p>\n
Training\/Equipment: Utilize state-of-the-art television technology; MS
\nOutlook, E-mail.<\/p>\n
Work Environment\/Physical Requirements: High stress environment with
\ndeadline pressures. Some travel may be required on an occasional basis.<\/p>\n
