\nJOB SUMMARY: The Sports Director\/Anchor delivers and contributes accurate,
\nvisual, news content across all media platforms.<\/p>\n
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Anchor Sports weekdays, report sports stories and help organize\/plan the
\nSports Department on a weekly basis. Must be able to handle anchoring long form
\nsports coverage such as College Pre Game and Post Game Shows. Assist in writing
\nand producing sports on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
* Responsible for evaluating stories; organizing them into a cohesive
\nsequence within a sportscast or digital content for the web.
\n* Define
\nstrategic direction for content coverage to meet business objectives.
\n*
\nManage sports department, contribute to the editorial process and make solid
\ndecisions in breaking sports situations.
\n* Monitor postproduction processes
\nto ensure accurate completion of details.
\n* Execute strategies that engage
\nand grow audiences across all digital devices.
\n* Write, produce and edit
\nmaterial that appeals to target audiences.
\n* Research production topics
\nusing the internet, video archives, and other information sources.<\/p>\n
Specialized Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities:
\n* Must be able to interact well
\nwith video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and
\nengineering staff.
\n* Detail oriented; proficient in non-linear editing.
\n*
\nExcellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills.
\n* Strong news and
\nsports judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and
\nexpectations.
\n* Knowledge of media production, communication and
\ndissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and
\nentertain via written, oral, and visual media.
\n* Ability to meet quality
\nstandards for service & evaluate customer satisfaction.
\n* Proficient in
\nnon-linear editing.<\/p>\n
Training\/Equipment: Utilize state-of-the-art television technology; MS
\nOutlook, E-mail.<\/p>\n
Work Environment\/Physical Requirements: High stress environment with
\ndeadline pressures. Some travel may be required on an occasional basis.<\/p>\n
