The News Anchor serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
\n\u2022 Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
\n\u2022 Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
\n\u2022 Produces newscasts and communicates clear direction with team members. Must be able to produce two newscasts per day.
\n\u2022 Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating news programming and other content.
\n\u2022 Acts as a field reporter as assigned.
\n\u2022 Conducts interviews with news personnel and others.
\n\u2022 Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
\n\u2022 Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
\n\u2022 Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
\n\u2022 Edits video clips as assigned.
\n\u2022 Writes content for the website and other E-Media platforms.
\n\u2022 Interacts with viewers\/users on social media sites.<\/p>\n

\nRequirements & Skills:
\n\u2022 Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
\n\u2022 Fluency in English.
\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
\n\u2022 Prefer two years experience in anchoring and\/or reporting.
\n\u2022 Superior on-air presence.
\n\u2022 Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers and issues.
\n\u2022 Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
\n\u2022 Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
\n\u2022 Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
\n\u2022 Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
\n\u2022 Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution.
\n\u2022 Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
\n\u2022 Flexibility to work any shift.<\/p>\n
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
\nThe News Anchor must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition the News Anchor must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.<\/p>\n
