The Alabama Broadcasters Association is offering “professional scholarships” for the registration cost to attend upcoming NAB development programs. The NAB is holding space in these meetings for ABA attendees from our member stations. Stations and/or employees will be responsible for travel expenses.
General Managers may nominate three candidates each for the three events. Winners will be drawn from nominations.

The Small Market Television Exchange (SMTE) is the only meeting for small market group executives and station television broadcasters in DMAs 75 and above. The SMTE focuses on innovative ways to attract emerging and non-traditional advertisers, suggestions to enhance a station’s position in the local marketplace and tips on turning good ideas into revenue-generating plans.
The 2014 SMTE will be held in San Antonio from Thursday, September 18 to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20. This year’s Exchange has new hours. It will open with a breakfast on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. Registration kicks off on Wednesday afternoon, September 17. Make sure you don’t fly home on Saturday morning. The planning committee guarantees that the Saturday program alone will deliver 50 money making ideas that will make your advertisers smile.

The Leadership Development Program is held in the state-of-the-art conference center at the headquarters of the National Association of Broadcasters in Washington, D.C. NAB is located at 1771 N Street, NW, just off Connecticut Ave. The building is approximately one and half blocks from Metro’s Red Line station at Dupont Circle or four blocks from the Blue/Orange Line station at Farragut West.
This four-day program provides non managers and new broadcast managers who are top performing professionals with the tools needed to confront today’s business challenges, take on new levels of responsibility, advance in their careers and develop leadership skills.
