Carmen Brown

Carmen Brown has been a leader in the Mobile community for over 30 years. The “Mobilian by choice” has worked in broadcasting all over the United States since beginning her radio career as a student DJ/volunteer at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI in the ‘60s.

Her Alabama broadcast career includes on-air and management positions at WBLX FM, WKRG FM, WKRG TV5, WHIL FM and WDLT FM where she hosts “Smooth Jazz Sundays”.

Because of the mentoring influences provided by Larry Williams (WBLX FM) and D. H. “Buck” Long, Jr. (WRKG TV, Inc.), Brown learned to share those lessons with others and to lead by example.

She has served on committees and boards of many of the city’ charitable, arts, civic, and business organizations and is founding member of Mobile’s Jazz society, the Mystic Order of the Jazz Obsessed (MOJO). She has been the recipient of major awards from the Public Relations Council of Alabama/Mobile Chapter and People United to Advance the Dream, a local civil right organization.

Since 2001, Brown has been a business partner with Imagery Marketing Consultants, Inc. As vice president, she specialized in radio/television production, web design and corporate training.
