Sadly, as violence in our country seems to be on the incline, broadcasters are occasionally the victims – not just the reporters. This session will offer instruction on personal safety and demonstrate how you might defend yourself if attacked. This session will be offered Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon to give everyone an opportunity to attend.
Dawn Hendricks has been a Certified Fitness Trainer for the last 27 years. She maintains her certification through the Sports and Sciences Association (ISSA). She is the owner of 911 Physical Training and Hendricks Private Investigations.
From 2003 until 2007, Hendricks worked for the United States Secret Service providing protection for the president, vice president, staff, foreign dignitaries and foreign embassies. During her Secret Service training, she received a Life Saving Award and two Distinguished Fitness Awards.
Prior to her service for the federal government, Hendricks was a member of the Huntsville Police Department from 1996 to 2003. During that time she was also a training advisor for the police academy. She was an advanced baton instructor, report writing instructor, recruitment coordinator and physical fitness instructor. She is the author of Lil’ Warrior Fitness Book #1.
