Mike Reynolds describes his career in broadcasting as “living a childhood fantasy. “ He has been committed to this industry for as long as he remembers. While attending Troy State University, he was given his first shot at announcing at a local “mom and pop” radio station.
Soon thereafter, he began a fifteen-year career at WSLA-TV in Selma, which became WAKA-TV, Montgomery/Selma in 1985. He worked as a New/Sports Reporter/Anchor, Operations Manager, Sales Manager and Station Manager. In 1990, he was General Manager of WTUN-WHBB, owned by GMX Communications and in 1991, formed BroadSouth Communications, Inc. to purchase WHBB-WDXX, which he continues to own and operate.
Mike also owns several other businesses. In 1990, he formed Eagle-King, Inc. to manage Craig Golf Course. In 1994, he formed Southern Resource Management, Inc to develop and manage commercial and residential real estate and timberland and in 1998, Mike formed R & L Investments, LLC to develop commercial
real estate.
“Small market success is dependent upon community involvement and commitment,” according to Mike. He has served his community and industry well in the past and in the present.
