The NAB has alerted us that there is a new radio commercial produced for Kingsford Charcoal that violates the FCC’s guidelines for Emergency Alert System (EAS) tones.
The FCC has made it clear that the EAS is a national public warning system to be used only during a national emergency, or to deliver important emergency information such as Amber Alerts and weather information, like tornado warnings.
Just last week, the FCC announced fines of $1.9 million for use of the EAS tone by three entities. They are very serious about this violation.
If you have received this spot, make sure it does not contain the EAS tones.
