ANNUAL ENTRY SALARY: $36,176.62
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking an experienced accountant to be the primary purchasing agent for the agency. The successful candidate will display understanding of state purchasing laws and regulations. Ideal candidate will have experience in SAAS and Merlin and will have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Duties include but not limited to preparing routine purchase orders for supplies, materials, equipment, and services: Responsible for distributing bid invitations to vendors and helps review bids for acceptance, and performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field related to the scientific, technological, or specialized functions of the employing agency (AND) four (4) years of experience related to the above-described duties, three (3) years of which must include line or functional supervision; (OR) A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field related to the scientific, technological, or specialized functions of the employing agency (AND) five (5) years of experience related to the above- described duties, three (3) years of which must include line or functional supervision; (OR) Graduation from a four-year high school or equivalent (GED) (AND) nine (9) years of experience related to the above-described duties, three (3) years of which must include line or functional supervision; (OR) Related education and related experience may be substituted on an equal basis, except there shall be no substitution for the three (3) years of line or functional supervision.
