Experience:
Responsibilities:

•Manage day-to-day operations of news department effectively to enterprise strong unique local content
•Manage reporting staff on daily news gathering
•Guide staff in journalism best practices and content showcasing
•Oversee daily breaking news and severe weather coverage
•Oversee short and long-term planning for content
•Work with management team using metrics and research to increase audience for both TV newscasts and digital platforms
•Communicate individual and team goals clearly
•Manage and review performance, motivate, coach and keep staff focused to ensure excellence
•Hold staff accountable for content that is balanced, accurate and relevant
•Manage anchor and reporter schedules
•Work with News Director on department long-term goals, budgeting, recruiting and hiring

Requirements:
Requirements:

•Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws
•Must possess a strong understanding of newsroom technologies including ENPS, Avid, iNews, Xpression, and NewsTicker
•Strong production values and content showcasing skills required
•Journalism degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in news management with noted leadership skills is required
