WAAY – TV, the ABC affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama has an immediate opening for a Weather Meteorologist / Reporter to join our weather team. Weather is the #1 concern for the audience in the Huntsville, Alabama market and they are very savvy weather consumers. WAAY is looking for someone who has a passion for weather, on and off the air.

Candidates must be an expert on tornado forecasting and tracking, able to accurately forecast all types of extreme weather conditions and present compelling, educational weather presentations to our viewers, via TV, the web and various social media outlets, be able to work flexible hours, and work well in a high stress environment. Public appearances and community goodwill are essential elements to this position.

A minimum of 2 years experience as a broadcast meteorologist, a degree in Meteorology or other like science, AMS and/or NWS seal are required. WAAY – TV is a Baron HD equipped station with Fast Trac, Viper, Storm Warn and Omni as our main weather equipment. We present our weather outside the studio in our beautiful outdoor weather garden located 1000 feet above the city of Huntsville.
