WTVY, Dothan’s #1 rated news station has an immediate opening for a producer. Primary responsibilities include producing and boothing the weeknight 6 & 10 p.m. newscasts. This position requires:
Outstanding journalism skills and broadcast judgment
Strong writing, editing and research skills
Experience with iNews and Edius is a plus
The desired candidate is someone who wants to be the architect of a top-rated, award-winning newscast on a nightly basis. We have veteran anchors who are always willing to help, top flight equipment and a winning culture. We’re looking for someone to jump in and help us build on our already outstanding reputation as the news leader in our market. The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines is essential.
WTVY covers counties in three states; Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Our primary DMA is in Southeast Alabama. We have a live truck, a satellite truck, multiple backpack live units and three bureaus. Our family of stations produces more than 29 hours of live news per week.
Our station is located in southeast Alabama. We’re less than 2 hours from Panama City and Destin on the Gulf Coast, as well as manageable drives to major cities like Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, Montgomery, Birmingham, Mobile and Tallahassee.
