Engineering Notebook: Engineering Academy hits the road!

eng_notebookDue to the interest in the Academy’s “Art of Live Audio Mixing” seminar, we have decided to take it on the road!

Our next seminar will in the Montgomery area Saturday May 9th. Centerpoint Fellowship Church will be hosting the event at their facilities 2050 Commerce St. Millbrook, AL. (just off I-65 exit 179).  Subjects to be covered include microphone selection and placement, plus detail instructions on line checks, sound checks and what it takes to create a great mix for your event.

We encourage all church sound crews, broadcast engineers, and any involved in mixing audio to take advantage of this free seminar. Time is 9 AM – 4 PM, lunch will be provided.

REGISTER BY MONDAY, MAY 4 FOR LIVE AUDIO SEMINAR

The Academy has combined the Advanced Television Engineering and HDTV Seminars into one two-day event June 1st and 2nd. This was to facilitate getting our presenters together for a most informative two days of educational presentations.

June 20th is the date for the “IP Fundamentals for Broadcasting” seminar. Mark this date on your calendar for a full day of instruction covering a most important topic.

The fall round of Radio and Television Engineering classes has been scheduled.  The Radio class will be offered the week of July 13th and the Television Engineering class is offered the week of October 5th.  These classes are open to anyone wishing to learn more about the technical side of broadcasting regardless of experience. Excellent for interns, announcers, master control operators, IT personnel and production crews.

Don’t forget our special “Engineering Day” presented as part of the ABA annual convention August 14th. Four great presentations on “Broadcast Audio–Quality vs Quantity” by leading engineers.
