WBMA-TV is seeking an experienced, hands-on, Assistant News Director with strong leadership and an aggressive style. If you can own breaking news, be cool under pressure, and have experience with extended severe weather coverage – this is the job for you!
Required Skills Responsibilities/Requirements:
•Primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day news operation, news planning, oversee execution of daily newscasts.
•Responsible for initiating and managing content delivery on multiple platforms.
•Review daily newscasts to ensure quality control and brand compliancy and subsequently provide feedback to all news staff.
•Assist in recruiting and hiring for news department personnel.
•Collaborate with other managers to develop marketing plans, to establish ratings goals, and to effectively reach said goals.
Required Experience
•Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws.
•Act as Executive Producer as required.
•Supervise staff by providing guidance, training, and evaluations.
•Journalism degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in news management with noted leadership skills required.
