NEWS DIRECTOR

News Director -WBHK
SummitMedia Birmingham is currently looking for news talent to join our already successful properties. We are seeking news reporters and anchors who can write, produce and voice news reports and cover breaking news as needed.

Responsibilites:
Must be available to cover breaking news as it happens anytime. Must manage the SummitMedia public file assuring quarterly reports are submitted to FCC specifications and on-time.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years in radio or TV news experience required: must have experience in audio editing, gathering news information, writing and delivering a newscast. Must have contacts to gather local news and actualities and have experience in performing wall-to wall news coverage of breaking news/severe weather emergencies.

Closing Statement:
This is not an entry level position. Candidate must be able to perform at a high level from day 1.

PROMOTIONS MANAGER

SummitMedia Birmingham is currently looking for a Promotions Manager for our stations WBHK and WAGG.

Responsibilities:
Manage the development and execution of all station promotions, community service efforts and assist in the development of station event marketing opportunities. Promotions Manager is responsible for enhancing station image and visibility within the community that will attract new listeners and clients. Act as liaison between programming and sales to develop overall station campaigns, themes and marketing approaches. Develop revenue generating promotions that cross promote clients, third parties, and the radio station. Implement marketing efforts at the local level. This is a position that involves assisting with the functions of on-air and on-site promotions. On-site events include advertiser sponsored events and station sponsored events, i.e. live broadcasts, remotes, concerts, community service appearances, and talent appearances. The candidate will also be expected to converse comfortable with the public in an outgoing and friendly manner. Other duties may be assigned.
