AL Broadcasters Urged to Lobby for Local Radio Freedom Act

Across the country, states are doing a stellar job getting House members to cosponsor our Local Radio Freedom Act, but we still have a long way to go to reach 218 on the resolution. Our Alabama delegation will be in the state from March 30 to April 10 on recess.  This is a great opportunity to talk our members who haven’t signed on yet and thank those who have done so.

GREAT NEWS IN ALABAMA… Congressman Rogers and Congressman Byrne were original co-sponsors!  Please be sure to thank them for standing up for broadcasters!  Congressman Mo Brooks added his name just this week.  If you are in his district, please let them know you appreciate his doing so.

WE STILL NEED THESE MEMBERS TO ADD THEIR NAMES:     Aderholt, Roby, Sewell and Palmer.  Please reach out to them while they are home over the next couple of weeks.  We need to get their names added to the Local Radio Freedom Act in support of great local broadcasters who make a difference in their communities every day.

(TV GMs, we appreciate you speaking on behalf of radio stations in your community.  If we can help you better understand the issue, please email stinsley@al-ba.com and someone will call you to explain it.)

If your district’s Representative is already a cosponsor, be sure to thank them via email or send them a note on your station letterhead.

Undoubtedly, they will be interviewed on radio and TV during the recess, so please take them aside for a few minutes before or after the interview to say thank you for being a cosponsor or to encourage them to join as a cosponsor.
