2015: ABA Engineering Academy Year 4

[cryout-pullquote align=”left|center|right” textalign=”left|center|right” width=”33%”]“I just finished my first week as a master control operator. It is a major step up from my prior job. Your class gave me the knowledge and confidence to go for a new and bigger job.” – Joey Norris, MCO –  LIN Southeast Broadcast Hub, Mobile[/cryout-pullquote]

The ABA Engineering Academy is excited to mark its fourth year of offering broadcast engineering technical classes to help train new technicians for the industry along with offering expanded continuing educational opportunities for seasoned engineers.

In addition to our normal five day, entry level classes for prospective engineers (or anyone wishing to learn more about the technical side of broadcasting) the Academy will offer new advanced classes for Radio and Television Engineers that will be more in depth on technical items along with design, installation and maintenance of modern broadcast operations.

[cryout-pullquote align=”left” textalign=”left” width=”33%”]“I have picked up things about engineering over the past 13 years working at the station due to my own interest and realization that an engineer is not always available. I feel the ABA Academy helped advance my knowledge significantly.” – Maria Dudzak, KRBD-FM Ketchikan, Alaska[/cryout-pullquote]
Plus there will be even more opportunities for engineers to continue their education, learning about new equipment and technology. Several one day seminars will focus on items such as IP fundamentals for Broadcasting, HDTV, HD Radio, Digital Audio/Video workstations, Live Audio Mixing and Audio/Video ingest and playout systems.

Do you have people in your operation that have an interest in learning more about the technical side of broadcasting?  Announcers, IT managers, master control operators, production, plus new and prospective engineers can receive valuable information that will aid them in their work.

[cryout-pullquote align=”left” textalign=”left” width=”33%”]“Although my background is in television, the radio applications that were taught in the class were very interesting to me as well. I thought the instructor did a fine job in presenting the materials of the class in an easy to understand way.” – Daniel Black, TD – ABC 33/40, Birmingham[/cryout-pullquote]

The regular classes are five days in length and the advanced classes are two to three day events. These classes are offered by the ABA Engineering Academy at no cost.  Both of these courses offer the opportunity to take the Society of Broadcast Engineering (SBE) certification exam.  There is a charge for the exam, however it is not required to take the exam to attend the classes.

Don’t miss out on these excellent opportunities to learn about and continue your technical education in the field of broadcast engineering. Classes are held at the ABA training center 2180 Parkway Lake Drive, Hoover AL.
