Sales Professionals – WBHK FM, Birmingham

SummitMedia Birmingham radio station WBHK FM is looking for Full Time Sales Professionals. This is a position that involves the sale of advertising on air, on line and on site through sponsorship opportunities offered throughout the year. The candidate will be expected to establish relationships with clients that are strong enough for the client to converse comfortably with the seller and share their most pressing challenges with the sellers so that the seller will be able to bring back a well thought out solution for the client. Other responsibilities include: finding and acquiring new business opportunities, attending networking events and generally presenting a professional and polished image of the company they represent. Candidate will also work closely with internal departments (ie: programming, promotions, business and traffic) to help fulfill the client’s expectation with regard to all areas of their business relationship with the company.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must be flexible, personable and able to orchestrate sales and promotional plans developed for clients successfully. Digital Media News Coordinator – WTVY, Dothan

WTVY, Dothan’s #1 rated news station has an immediate opening for a Digital Media News Coordinator. The Digital Media News Coordinator will be in charge of newsroom websites www.wtvy.com and www.nbcwiregrass.com. Other responsibilities include administration of station social media websites on Facebook and Twitter. Videography work will be required as part of newsroom duties, as assigned by News Director.

Employee will keep newsroom websites up to date with information provided by news staff, as well as press releases, news sources, other affiliates and sister stations inside the Gray TV family. DMNC will work to craft creative sections on websites for occasions such as Friday Night Football, Elections, Peanut Festival and other major events in our viewing area. Desired candidate will monitor comments on news stories on station websites and remove inappropriate posts, as necessary. DMNC will also be responsible for keeping latest content on the Gray Digital Media ticker system, through clickability and the Gray Digital Media interface.

Social media is a primary responsibility for the DMNC. Administration of station Facebook pages for WTVY & WRGX, as well as station Twitter feeds is required. This includes crafting creative posts to Facebook pages to create viewer interaction, monitoring comments on posts and removing inappropriate comments, working with news staff to keep feeds updated with latest and most important information and working with sales to administrate contests, when necessary. Work with News Director to effectively post at peak times on social media to ensure most interaction with the public.

DMNC will work with reporters at various times and serve as a videographer for major stories and sweeps pieces. Other limited videography work may be required as well, as assigned by the News Director.

WTVY covers counties in three states; Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Our station is located in southeast Alabama. We’re less than 2 hours from Panama City and Destin on the Gulf Coast, as well as manageable drives to major cities like Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, Montgomery, Birmingham, Mobile and Tallahassee.
