Engineering Notebook – HD Radio seminar is huge success

HDseminar

On Saturday May 24th (Memorial Day weekend) some thirty engineers with over 700 years of combined engineering experience attended a special HD Radio Seminar in Hoover AL. The event was hosted by the Alabama Broadcasters Associations Engineering Academy.

Attendees were treated to two most informative presentations by Frank Foti, CEO of Telos Alliance and Jeff Welton, National Sales Engineer, Nautel Corp.

We are pleased to announce that video of the seminar is now available online. It is broken up into 11 videos so it is easier to watch. There is also a great video by Bob Katz discussing digital audio.

The presentations featured a inside look at the history of audio processing along with proper setup for analog and digital audio. A detail review of the generation of the HD signal along with a in depth look at the operation of the importer, exporter and exciter (Exgine). A complete audio chain was set up at the training center from the processor through a transmitter.

The seminar was offered by the Engineering Academy at no charge and included lunch sponsored by RF Specialties South.

July 14th – 18th are the dates for next Radio Broadcast Engineering class at the Academy and the Television Broadcast Engineering class running Sept 8th – 12th. Classes are held at the ABA training center 2180 Parkway Lake Drive, Hoover.
