Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking an experienced accountant to be the primary purchasing agent for the agency. The successful candidate will display understanding of state purchasing laws and regulations. Ideal candidate will have experience in SAAS and Merlin and will have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Primary Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing specialized content and reporters in the daily execution of assigned duties. Must have the ability to manage newsroom employees and newscast production elements required for newscasts. Oversee the preparation of news elements, monitor the progress of stories, scripts and editing in advance of the show(s). Must be able to critique the performance of the staff and correct as required. Must be able to oversee staff for newscast and web content producing. Contribute story ideas on a daily, weekly and long range basis. Collaborative communication with other newsroom management is essential. Must be Tech savvy; have a strong knowledge and desire to learn more about weather, tech, space and military content, possess excellent news judgment and ability to write/re-write stories for all news platforms. Must be able to adjust to the ever changing needs of an active newsroom. Other duties will apply as needed.
