Promotions Director – WTVY, Dothan

WTVY, Dothan’s #1 rated news station has an immediate opening for a Promotions Director. The Promotions Director will be in charge of crafting promotional campaigns for the WTVY family of channels as well as all news promotions. Daily work with programming logs is also required. Shooting, editing, strong writing skills and creativity is essential for this position.

Employee will work with department managers, creative services and the General Manager to develop and implement promotional campaigns for the WTVY family of channels as well as assist with commercial production. This includes promotional duties for WTVY (CBS), WRGX (NBC), CW & MeTV. Work in a team environment to craft creative and entertaining campaigns to promote station programming and events.

Desired candidate will be in charge of news promotions. WTVY airs nearly 30 hours of live news each week, along with special programming throughout the year. Work with News Director, creative services and General Manager to develop promotional campaigns to highlight employees, major events, newsroom achievements and other important developments for newscasts on WTVY and WRGX.

Work with the WTVY programming hub to fill logs for four stations on a daily basis. Become familiar with necessary software, including Wide Orbit. Place station promotional spots in desired log position, in order to achieve biggest impact.

Technical ability with editing software and cameras is critical. Knowledge of After Effects, Adobe Premiere and Edius editing software is a plus, as well as experience with Panasonic P2 cameras. Desired candidate will also exhibit strong writing skills.

Develop contacts in the community with non-profit organizations. Work with contacts to determine potential service projects and promotional campaigns involving the WTVY family of channels.
