  • Notice to all stations in the Central Time Zone: Information from FEMA indicates that the RWT scheduled for Monday April 21th was not transmitted. You should make a note of that fact in your station logs.
  • Some additional information concerning EAS…..The FCC plans for the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) on the Part 11 rewrite is actually going to happen this year. Part 11 of the rules covers rules and regulations related to EAS. Also stations are encouraged to make sure their EAS gear is behind a firewall, to reduce possibilities of hacking.
  • Attention stations with DASDEC EAS units. Digital Alert Systems has announced a software upgrade to version 2.5-0 for both the DASDEC-1 and DASDEC-11. To download go to…. www.digitalalertsystems.com/software_updates2_5-0.html. A password is now required to log into this new page and registered DASDEC customers should have received an email with the password.
