Alabama News Network is accepting applications for Chief Meteorologist for the local CBS affiliate, WAKA-TV and the local ABC affiliate WNCF-TV in Montgomery, AL. This is a key on-air position that requires excellent communication skills, a high work ethic and the ability to manage our four-person weather team as well as our state-of-the-art computer graphics systems. We’re seeking an aggressive, creative thinker with extensive severe weather experience who will take the lead on the air, through digital media and with our radio partners. We have tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and sometimes snow, and will break in with wall-to-wall coverage as needed. We’re looking for someone who will also get involved in our community. Applicants should have a meteorology degree or educational certification. An AMS or NWA seal is a strong plus, as is 3-5 years experience at a commercial TV station.
