This is a position for a reporter or multimedia journalist with a proven track record that includes the following:
-accurately report on a variety of subjects
-break stories that the competition doesn’t have
-generate enterprise story ideas on a daily basis
-write/produce clear, easy to understand stories
-deliver compelling on-air live shots & stand-ups
-ability to shoot and edit video on non-linear platforms
-passion to post and support the station’s web and social media sites
If you have not already been doing these things successfully for more than 2 years at a commercial television station, please do not waste your time. We are particularly interested in candidates who also know how to operate a full-size microwave live truck and/or the willingness/technical capacity to learn how to do so.
It’s not clear yet what shift the person hired for this position will work. It’ll be dependent on where your skills are best suited and the potential for other internal reassignments.
