A Multimedia Journalist must be able to perform the following functions:
-confidently and skillfully shoot & edit digital video
-accurately report on a variety of subjects
-write/produce clear, easy to understand stories including producing packages
-deliver compelling on-air live shots & stand-ups
-willingness and ability to set up own Skype shots/Ustream shots and possibly own microwave live shots
-passion to post and support the station’s web and social media sites.

It’s not clear yet what shift or in which newsroom the person hired for this position will work. It’ll be dependent on where your skills are best suited and the potential for other internal reassignments.

Core Job Functions:

• Shooting, editing, reporting writing and producing stories for on-air and online.
•Must have a solid grasp of how to tell stories with words, video, sound and graphics.
•A superior ability to develop enterprise story ideas, develop sources & contacts, and research stories.
•Aggressive response to spot news, breaking news and severe weather.
•Set-up live shots from spot & breaking news and deliver live reports on-air.
•Web Posting: Post video and text content to station’s website.
•Other duties as assigned.
