Born in Centre, Martin Houston aspired to be a professional football player for the Dallas Cowboys.  He passionately pursued his dream, achieving All-State (three times) and “1987 Player of the Year” honors at CCHS. At the University of Alabama, he rushed for over 1,000 yards and was known for getting the tough yards.  Martin realized his dream by signing with the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers in 1993.  A freak knee injury ended his career prematurely.

Currently, you can hear him weekday mornings from 6a-7a, on The Blitz w/ Martin Houston Tide 102.9/100.9 in Tuscaloosa.  Martin and Ryan Fowler, host of The Game, have launched a new website is an extension of their radio shows. The website provides daily podcasts, film room analysis, message boards to create a dialogue with the Alabama fans, and Facebook/YouTube Live shows on a regular, rotating schedule.

In 1989, Martin married his sweetheart, Cassandra and they have 4 beautiful children (2-boys and 2 girls).  He enjoyed a successful career at BellSouth/ATT where he was a Pinnacle Award Winner (Top Performer) as a manager, as well as a three-time Gateway II Participant (program for high potential leaders).
