WAAY-TV (WAAY-31) in Huntsville, AL is looking for a leader with creative talents to fill an immediate opening for Morning Producer. WAAY-TV places a strong emphasis on quality journalism and storytelling. You will be supplied with all news gathering tools necessary to create premium content with supporting production techniques needed to prepare quality, market-leading work. WAAY-31 is honored to be the Alabama Broadcasters 2022 Station of the Year. This designation is in great part due to the award-winning work of Producers who are responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. The ideal candidate will work closely with the News Director, Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on newscast content, working together to determine the content and flow of newscasts. The Morning Producers is responsible for generating and writing stories and determining how to best showcase this content.

A college degree is required with a preferred focus on Journalism or related form of writing. The right entry-level candidate will receive full consideration. As the world of TV news changes, the ideal candidate should be well-versed in the many aspects of Journalism, focusing on producing and publishing content where news consumers are, both online and on-air. A skill in developing contacts through social networking and a talent for non-linear editing are both a plus. WAAY was recently honored as the only station in North Alabama to earn a coveted Edward R. Murrow Award for exemplary work.
