FIRST ALERT REPORTER – WBRC

WBRC 6 News in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a multimedia journalist to prepare and present breaking news to our morning audiences on various platforms.

We are looking for a Journalist who is hungry for urgent news. This person must be resourceful and able to scope out new information and break stories. The position requires someone to find and prepare urgent news stories for linear TV and digital audiences. Occasional anchoring and field reporting will also be assigned.

NEWS PRODUCER – WALA

Job Summary/Description:
WALA Fox 10News is looking for a dynamic producer to join its award-winning news team. The successful candidate must have a great attitude, and desire to create memorable newscasts. You should value accuracy, be a strong writer and good communicator. You will search ENPS and multiple other sources for stories, including Fox & CNN. You must maintain strong working relationships with anchors, reporters and other producers.
The position requires you to have a flexible schedule and fill-in on other shows as needed, including some holidays.
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
– Use editorial judgment to help determine content of the newscasts.
– Work with reporters and news managers to create unique, fast-paced newscasts.
– Use social media to determine content of newscasts and highlight big social stories.
– Use creative production techniques such as graphics and other forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance newscasts and stories.
– Research for facts and credibility.
– Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer.
– Deliver unscripted breaking news coverage and special event coverage to the community at large.
– Collaborate with reporters and management in the development of broadcast content such as newscasts, promotions, and teases.
– Evaluate leads and tips in order to develop story ideas.

– Make time-sensitive decisions.
– Write clearly for multiple platforms on tight deadlines.

NEWS PRODUCER – WEAR

WEAR has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on the newscast and its content. In this position you will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories and develop content for our web site.

The ideal candidate will have:

Solid news judgment
Be a compelling and accurate writer
Be able to multitask and manage time in order to put together an exciting and informative newscast

WLRH Public Radio in Huntsville, Alabama (a licensee of Alabama Public Television) is seeking a full-time Promotions/Membership Specialist. The Promotions/Membership Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director of Radio and other WLRH staff members to help with membership, station events and other fund-raising activities. This position will also help communicate with WLRH’s leadership donors and community partners to generate membership support. In addition, this position will perform general office duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Assist WLRH staff members in creating and executing promotional plans for news stories, special programming and community outreach efforts.
Participate during fundraising and open house events.
Coordinate with the General Manager to support underwriting and membership activities.
