DIRECTOR OF SALES – WSFA

WSFA 12 News is seeking a Director of Sales to capitalize on the strength of our powerhouse station ratings along with our ever-growing digital platforms. You’ll be supported by seasoned sales managers, talented sellers, Gray Digital Media, and exceptional support staff. In collaboration with the General Manager, the Director of Sales will set the tone for all local, national, and digital sales efforts. The DOS will oversee all facets of the Sales Dept, including staff management, inventory optimization, revenue goal setting and achievement, as well as budgeting.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Five years or more of experience leading the broadcast and digital sales teams.
– Skillful collaborator willing and able to work closely with other departments to create station wide success.
– Seasoned leader who leads with positivity-experienced at managing and growing a team.
– Developing and implementing sales strategies to exceed revenue targets in local, national, digital, and new product sales.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– Must have a strong knowledge of digital platforms along with broadcast.
– Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising, or Mass Communications, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
– Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings.
– Ability to present, negotiate, close deals, and build long-term relationships.
– Thorough attention to detail
– Minimum five years’ experience in media sales leadership.
– Experience guiding, coaching, and positively motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
– Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.

MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST/REPORTER – WSFA

WSFA 12 News is looking for an experienced Multimedia Journalist/Reporter to join our award-winning team in Montgomery. The candidate will be responsible for covering local news stories for our newscasts, website, and news app. Candidate must be a team player, able to juggle multiple deadlines, and have experience covering breaking news. We are looking for someone who can shoot, write, and edit for TV and all digital platforms. This position will include working weekends and some limited anchoring.

JOB SUMMARY: WAFF 48 is looking for a Digital Producer/Digital Anchor. We’re looking for someone passionate about the digital news landscape who can be one of the on-camera faces of our streaming platforms. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about delivering news on camera. The ideal candidate will also write stories for the station’s website and help manage its social media platforms. This position’s weekly schedule will include shifts on Saturday and Sunday. Occasional holiday shifts will be required as well. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Must have strong on-camera skills with the ability to think fast on your feet and react to breaking news situations.
