Engineering Notebook: Register now for HD Radio technology seminar

April 11, 2014

We now have a date set for the special ABA Engineering Academy’s “HD Radio Seminar”. This one day overview of HD Radio will be held Saturday May 24th from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Location will be the ABA Training Center 2180 Parkway Lake Drive, Hoover.

Presenters for this most informative and timely seminar will be Frank Foti and Jeff Welton. Both Frank and Jeff are experts in HD Radio and bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge about the subject.

Frank is Telos Alliance CEO and Omnia Audio founder and has been the driving force behind the design of Omnia processors over the last several years. He was the recipient of the NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award in 2013. He will discuss in detail proper configuration for analog and digital processing. He indicates “the biggest problem with HD Radio is that engineers are still setting their digital processors the way analog processors are set up…that is incorrect…digital processors are completely different.”

Jeff has worked with Nautel for over 23 years. He is currently the Nautel Sales Manager for U.S. Central Region but previously he spent 16.5 years as a Nautel Customer Service Technician. He will open the lid and take the mystery out of HD Radio technology . Jeff has been involved in numerous digital projects all over the country. Importers, Exporters and Exgine will be discussed in detail. Proper set up, configuration and maintenance will be covered.
