SPORTS REPORTER/MMJ – WSFA

WSFA 12 News in Montgomery, AL, is looking for a Sports Reporter/MMJ. The successful candidate must have at least two years of experience and be a self-starter with good organizational skills. Must be able to deliver energetic sportscasts and compelling sports news on all platforms under tight, pressure-packed deadlines. This includes a leading presence on social media and wsfa.com. Our sports team covers two SEC teams along with five other local colleges and universities, as well as high school sports. This position includes working weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

– Writing, reporting, shooting, editing, and doing live shots
– Finding and telling compelling local sports stories
– Contribute content to wsfa.com and other associated digital products
– In addition to anchoring our 6, 9, and 10 pm newscasts, availability in our other newscasts as needed will be required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

– At least 2 years of sports reporting/anchoring experience.
– Exceptional knowledge of sports.
– Must be energetic, driven, have solid news/sports judgment, and have strong reporting and live skills.
– Must be a leader in the newsroom and excel at breaking news/sports coverage from the studio and in the field.
– Exceptional planning and creative storytelling are a must – a flexible schedule is part of the job with sports events.
– College degree in Journalism or Communications

• The Videographer/Editor shoots and edits video of news events and is responsible for capturing the visuals of news stories and editing all forms of media for daily news broadcasts, continuous news platforms and special reports.

• Videographer/Editor must be available for overnight and early morning shifts and sometimes out-of-town assignments.
• Willing to learn to fly a drone and receive FAA certification.

MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST/REPORTER – WSFA

WSFA 12 News is looking for an experienced Multimedia Journalist/Reporter to join our award-winning team in Montgomery. The candidate will be responsible for covering local news stories for our newscasts, website, and news app. Candidate must be a team player, able to juggle multiple deadlines, and have experience covering breaking news. We are looking for someone who can shoot, write, and edit for TV and all digital platforms. This position will include working weekends and some limited anchoring.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Knowledge of ENPS is a plus

ABC 33/40 is looking for an Multi-Media Journalist. Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned. Shoots video for news reports

JOB SUMMARY: WAFF 48 is looking for a Digital Producer/Digital Anchor. We’re looking for someone passionate about the digital news landscape who can be one of the on-camera faces of our streaming platforms. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about delivering news on camera. The ideal candidate will also write stories for the station’s website and help manage its social media platforms. This position’s weekly schedule will include shifts on Saturday and Sunday. Occasional holiday shifts will be required as well. – Must have strong on-camera skills with the ability to think fast on your feet and react to breaking news situations.
