Part Time Master Control Operator/ Production Technician

The duties include monitoring all three of our stations as well as routine operation of Harris automation system, recording and preparation of satellite programming for later broadcast, keeping program logs and performing studio duties related to the production of local programming. A flexible schedule is required for this position, including holidays, nights and weekend hours. Applicant should be very computer literate and technology oriented with a high degree of attention to detail.

Technical Media Producer – WTOK

The Technical Media Producer has several responsibilities. The candidate is expected to be responsible for directing live and pre-recorded programming, including newscasts, updates, emergency weather coverage, public affairs programming etc. This person may also be called on to assist with studio production of commercial, promotional and public service programming. Other duties will include taking and prepping satellite feeds for syndicated programming, and ingesting programming and other air materials through Harris Auto Ingest. This person may also be expected to be called on for other duties in regards to news production such as operating studio camera, teleprompter and the audio console. Light editing duties including tagging daily promos, prepping commercials from third party sources using the editor, etc. This person will also have duties in the on air operation (Master Control) of WTOK and it’s auxilary channels, MYTOK and Meridian CW. These duties will involve monitoring the proper operation of all air signals and making required timing and content adjustments on the Harris automation systems for the three stations to assure that programming and commercials, psa’s and promos run as scheduled. This person will also be responsible for taking periodic transmitter readings and maintaining the transmitter log.

Prior directing experience and prior experience in other operational and production areas mentioned above is preferred. The candidate for this job should be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight hours as required for breaking news or weather coverage.

Engineering Alert – SAGE ENDEC certificate MUST be upgraded

A certificate inside the firmware for the SAGE digital ENDEC has just expired. If you do not upgrade to the newest firmware, you will miss the IPAWS CAP based EAS tests and alerts. The firmware upgrade is on the SAGE web site, as well as an explanation of why it is necessary.

WSFA 12 News is seeking a full-time Reporter/MMJ to work out of our newsroom in Auburn. Applicants should have a minimum of (1) year experience preferred and will be expected to live in Auburn. Our candidate will report on a variety of issues/ events/ subjects. Must be able to lift and carry video equipment and be capable of shooting, writing, editing, and posting multiple stories daily on air, on-line, mobile technology, and to social networking websites all under tight deadlines. Knowledge of sports is a plus. Good driving record required. FEMA has issued a notice that due to an unknown problem the Required Weekly Test (RWT) from IPAWS was not sent Monday January 13, 2014. They are looking into the problem at this time.
